On June 9th after much good conversation inspired by thoughtful, caring questions, the vote was taken to see if St. Paul’s UMC would continue to pursue the creation of affordable housing. Here is the tally of the referendum: 21 fives, 2 fours, 5 threes, 2 twos, ZERO ones, with three abstentions. The results are a strong positive affirmation to take the next concrete steps, no more researching and familiarizing. Let’s find a developer who will work with us to achieve affordable housing that fits our property, philosophy and membership.
The questions we fielded showed two things, 1.There was a good quality depth of feeling for the affordable housing issue and 2. the team has one heck of a lot of work to do!!! Your Housing Research Team thanks each of you for participating and sharing in the affordable housing dream for our church.
