As if Thanksgiving does not give us enough to do, the city has presented the Housing Team with several challenges to meet before we can create the final project and present it to our congregation. They are requiring a sidewalk, curb, and planting beds on 60th Ave. Also, NHA is awaiting news from the Oregon Department of State lands regarding the wetlands designation of the southeast corner of our lot. And finally, because of city codes, there can be no access to the housing project from Linwood Avenue.
Since each of these requirements will have a significant impact on our project, we will NOT have a definitive design by December 14. (Your housing team has been told, by the experienced NHA team, that these types of delays are typical in housing projects and things are still moving forward.) The closer we get to voting on the housing project, the farther away it seems, BUT, don’t give up hope! There are solutions to every challenge and we have the team that is capable of solving anything that comes up.
