After what seems like forever and an almost unlimited quantity of various plans, the very best option for you to consider for our affordable housing has been found. While the general layout looks good, there are also future occasions for further details to be worked out. Wednesday, 10/15, we spent 2 1/2 hours detailing how we will best give you the information on Sunday, the 26th. We are very excited about the opportunity to present it to you using the following schedule.
October 26 – you will hear from your Housing Team, NHA, and a group called Proud Ground with plenty of time for your questions to be answered
(FYI – November 5 – closed Housing Team meeting to plan November 9)
November 9 – gather for our usual Souper Sunday to further discuss the housing options and answer any remaining questions
November 23 – all church conference at which time we will have the deciding vote on the affordable housing project
Your decision on the 23rd will be the first of several milestone occurrences. Others will include the application for funding grants, the decision by the Conference Council, and, the finalization of future management plans for the property.
Obviously, while we have come a long, long way since our start two years ago, there is still far to go to realize our dream of helping the community through affordable housing.
