In the March 20 newsletter, you read a description of our housing project as steps in creating a masterpiece. Two of those steps were “Layout – NHA+ has created 15+ dreams of the possibilities afforded by our property dimensions which your Team has reduced to three options. And, Outline – NHA+ will take those three options to their contractor who will figure out costs and feasibility.” For our May 14 Housing Team meeting, Steve and Trell presented us with their findings for a 40 unit multi-family affordable housing complex.

While their presentation was numbers only and pushed us to the edge of our novice housing understanding, their knowledge and experience cleared up any questions we had. When the fog fully cleared, it was evident that more work needed to be done in order to make this project a viable masterpiece. For each of us on the team, this presentation fully reinforced the idea that NHA+ is the best team to get us through this process.

To attempt to share with you everything that was covered in this hour and 15 minute presentation would be impossible and much longer than you are willing to read. For this reason, I encourage you to find a team member who will answer any questions you have. They are Linda Cook, Ervin Miller, Bonnie and Mike Smiley, Dave Smith, and Tim Stockton.

Trell very nicely summed up our situation by saying, “It is extremely rare that a housing project is approved at this first costs and feasibility meeting.” That is a good thing to know because we like working with them and look forward to their solutions.
