January 8 saw your housing team start 2025 with energy and excitement for the future. We heard ideas from Steve and got a pep talk from Pastor Marshall who took it upon himself to share some good ideas and to express his appreciation for St. Paul’s pursuing affordable housing.
While seeing and hearing Marshall was a surprise and a shot in the arm for the team, we spent the majority of our time discussing ‘what-if’ scenarios. These discussions were in preparation for having the same talks with a wider audience, i.e. everyone in our congregation. Using the ministry inventory list that we all created on November 24, 2024, at the all-church meeting, we explored options in two areas: facility use and re-organization. During the facility use conversation, we explored the various options, pertaining to the parts of the existing building that are needed to maintain our chosen ministries. This naturally flowed into a discussion of the possible reorganizing/repurposing of the those rooms. We look forward to having these same discussions with all of you, which would lead to some important decisions.
Other topics we considered were gathering information for conference involvement, ideas for the future contract with NHA+ and ideas on the concept of shared facilities. Steve also shared some details pertaining to the work the NHA+ is doing.
As you can see, we are investigating areas and finding answers to questions we had heretofore not even known existed! Exciting times.
