A painting relies on multiple steps to get to the masterpiece. The artists among us, and those who watch painters on their how-to shows, will understand this process. First and foremost is the under painting, which establishes the tone, background and feeling of the painting. Second, establish the composition and layout of the objects intended for the painting. Third, roughly outline the main elements. Fourth, using your fine brushes, established the details and highlights. Fifth, invite the public to share in your successful execution. And finally, sixth, have the masterpiece placed so that all can appreciate it.
In order for the final result to be called a masterpiece, each step along the way must be executed flawlessly, while maintaining the vision of the final product. This process exactly illustrates the path we are taking toward our affordable housing project. Under painting – 2 years of Housing Team research and sharing, several all-church meetings for input and understanding, and engaging NHA+ as our developers. Layout – NHA+ has created 15+ dreams of the possibilities afforded by our property dimensions which your Team has reduced to three options. Outline – (where we are now) NHA+ will take those three options to their contractor who will figure out costs and feasibility, your team will establish a series of meetings to present these findings to the congregation.
To finish the project, we look forward to these steps. Details – all-church meetings to present the finalized option drawings. Shared – neighborhood canvassing and informational meetings. Placed – building, celebrating and opening for use the masterpiece. While these six steps attempt to give you an overview of the entire process, many details have been omitted for brevity. Remember, any questions you have can be answered and/or researched by your Housing Team, just ask.
