After two months of postponements, your housing team met on August 13. With the full team in attendance, NHA+ presented us with a cost analysis and architectural drawings of the next possible step in our housing project. While the latest iteration gave good details and is a great option for the future, there were also omissions and changes that were needed. Probably the best and most concrete fact that can be shared was this attention getting preliminary timeline; in the first quarter of 2026 – apply for grants, Q1 of 2027 – begin construction, Q1 of 2028 – complete construction, Q1 of 2029 – the housing is occupied. . . . Obviously, there is a tremendous amount to do in the next year and a half!
After much deliberation and quality questions, the team asked that NHA+ go back to the drawing board with our suggestions. We look forward, with great anticipation, to our meeting on September 10 as we take another step toward the realization of our affordable housing project.
